Kyla & Brian's Vineyard Wedding!

I am so happy to share with you the wedding cake I made for Brian and Kyla!  Brian and Kyla are a gorgeous couple, who had a stunning vineyard wedding, at the Ponte Winery in Temecula, CA.  Each tier of their cake had its own flavor, that reflected the couples classic and fun style!  Cake flavors included, almond, marble, red velvet, and almond poppy seed, with fillings of, vanilla bean Italian meringue buttercream, orange creamsicle buttercream, and fresh raspberries!  Congratulations to Brian & Kyla!!

A special thank you to, Allie Lindsey Photography for the amazing photos!

God Bless America... Land That I Love!!

So... I know this has nothing to do with cakes or parties, but I thought I might just share a bit of my 4th of July with you.  We started out our day with a train ride down to San Diego where we toured the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum.  Then off to Seaport Village for fish & chips, ice cream and a ride on the carousel.  We hopped a trolley to our next stop, Old Town San Diego, where we meandered through the shops and toured the Mormon Battalion Visitor Center.  The kids loved panning for gold at the newly remodeled visitor center!!  We made a mad dash back to the station to catch the last train of the day back to Oceanside!  Then ended our day watching a small town fireworks show in Fallbrook!  It was quite a busy day, but according to Megs, "The best day ever!"

Ballerina Party... TUTU Cute!!

This past weekend we had my little Megs ballerina birthday bash!  It was so fun creating this special event for someone so special to me.  For months I have been making and collecting all of the special details that made this party what it was and I have the pinterest board to prove it!
Megan has always had a soft spot for ballet, so it was a no brainer deciding on a theme for her party!  Here are just a few of the amazing photos from her party, captured by the talented Shillawna of Shillawna Ruffner Photography!
I would also like to share with you where I got and how I made some of the decorations.
This sweet feather topiary was created by hot gluing an inexpensive feather boa to a Styrofoam ball found at the craft store.  I then attached them to vintage silver candlesticks.
I found these adorable pink metal dress forms in the clearance section at Michael's and decided to make little tutus for them to dress them up for the occasion.
The tutu wreath was created by tying strips of tulle to a Styrofoam ring found at the craft store and then adding an inexpensive wooden letter which I decoupaged with some scrapbook paper.

The adorable vintage cupcake toppers were created by: MyHollyBlossom from etsy.

Megan's tutu was also an etsy find created by: PansyPieBoutique
Her custom headband was designed by: CozetteCouture

The sweet paper doll ballerinas on the dessert buffet were designed by: Sharon Esparza
Take a look at these gorgeous cookies created by my friend Liza!!

This chalkboard was a garage sale find for $5 that used to be a vanity mirror.  The mirror was missing, so I just used some chalkboard paint and voila! instant chalkboard.  It now hangs in my entryway year round and its sayings change with the seasons!
All of her party guests received a gift bag with tutus purchased from Halo Heaven (for only $2.50 each) and other fun goodies!

I brought my daughter's desk down from her room to act as the dessert buffet, and the framed tutu picture was purchased at Hobby Lobby for 50% off!

My Mom found this dress form at Pottery Barn Outlet and few years ago and it now lives in my daughter's room.  All I did was add a tutu and it made a perfect addition to the party!

The pennant bunting was purchased at Target a few years ago from their Simply Shabby Chic line.

I collected these adorable vintage Colonial Harvest milk glass snack sets on ebay and now have service for 18!

Here is a pic of my girls and I with my Mom!  We kicked all the boys out of the house for the day and my Mom came over to help with the party.  She's so sweet!!

I hope you enjoyed looking at this as much as I enjoyed creating it!!
